 General Liability

The family farm is more than a source of income; it is your home, often handed down generation to generation. It is a priceless family investment that needs the best insurance protection from the many risks faced in today’s world. Our coverage companies provide superior protection at a very competitive rate. Many companies do not have protection for commonly encountered farm risks.

Risks Protected against:

• Farm Employees- provides protection for hired hands, relatives, even the neighbor coming over to help out. From a few hours to a few months you know your help is covered and protected.

• Intake- A combine or field chopper picking up a rock, or litter abandoned in your field. This can cause expensive damage to an already costly piece of equipment. Under the Comprehensive Farm Machinery Endorsement, you are saved from paying the repairs out of pocket.

• Collision and Overturn- Most insurance companies cover the damage to an overturned tractor, but do they cover the grain lost? With a Collision and Overturn Endorsement a one thousand bushel grain cart that misses the culvert, is no longer a major financial setback.

Equipment Breakdown- This coverage will protect against equipment failure, pay for extra expenses incurred and pay for the loss of income. Example: A grain dryer fails, the dryer gets fixed, a rental is paid for and the grain damaged is paid for.

• Home Business Coverage- Many farmers and their families operate a small business like a small daycare, from their home; coverage for the business can be added to the farm policy at a rate much more affordable than a stand-alone policy.

Crop-Hail
Crop-Hail coverage provides protection against physical damage from hail and/or fire. Other coverage’s provided include fire department service charges, transit coverage to the first place of storage, catastrophe loss award (most coverage’s) and replanting coverage (most crops). Options exist in some areas for other perils, such as wind and theft.
If a grower has coverage and bumper crop yields or higher prices become apparent, coverage can be increased during the growing season to cover the value of the crop.
